Limes

Evidently childrens' taste buds develop at different rates and sour is the last to emerge. That might explain Anthony's fondness for lemons and limes. We'll be out in the backyard playing and Anthony will eat a lemon straight off the tree. He puckers but still keeps eating. (His little pals are all the same way.)

Its actually kind of convenient--we'll go out to eat and the waiter can bring us a small plate of lemons or limes to keep Anthony occupied before our food comes!

Amazing

Anthony just continues to amaze me. The latest is his memory. The other day he informed me that the man cleaned up the pumpkin. I asked him which pumpkin. His response, "Pumpkin fall from hopicopter." He was talking about the witch throwing the pumpkin from the helicopter at Hiller the day before Halloween.

Not just was I amazed that he can remember details from so long ago, but at the time of the event, he didn't have most of the words that he's currently using to describe what happened then. (Poorly written, but I'm sure you get it.)

First Roller Coaster Ride

Anthony went on his first (and second) roller coaster ride at Happy Hollow this weekend. He'd been eyeing the coaster all season, but this was the first time he was tall enough (and the line was short enough) to try it. I wasn't really sure how he'd do--honestly I was worried that he'd be scared, but as you can see, he had a ball. Daddy did the first round and then Grandma took him on it again. His second time through he even held his arms up in the air like a pro!

"I'm a Lemur"

We took Grandma and Grandpa to Happy Hollow Zoo today. They were running their Mother's Day promotion, and all mothers got in for free! We had a great time. We fed the overly aggressive goats, watched the lemurs and then played in the parallel play area. As I was helping Anthony down from the rope, he exclaimed, "I'm a lemur!"

(When we measured his wingspan, though, Anthony was actually a peregrine falcon.)

"I'm Exciting!!"

That was Anthony's exclamation as we were getting ready for the pinata at our first "Front Yard Friday" of the year. We had a Mexican themed potluck for Cinco de Mayo--I brought my mom's Mexican Wedding Cakes, they were a hit.

Its funny how quickly they learn--Anthony totally "got" how the pinata works. In fact, it was hard restraining him when the first few pieces of candy flew out, we had to wait 'til the end and he HAD to go for it! (This was in sharp contrast to just a few weeks ago when he was completely clueless.)
